I haven't been around much lately, I know. I'm sorry. Sadly, I just haven't been in much of a blogging mood lately. I've been trying to spend less time online & more time sewing and catching up on things around the house. But I've got some fun plans for my blog later this summer (giveaways?) so thanks for sticking around!
My WIPs this week:
I felt I needed a new skirt for summer so I pulled out this pattern and got to work.
With all the gathers I would not call this a one hour pattern, but it only took me a few hours from cutting to wearing it. :)
I used a light corduroy that I found at WalMart over the winter. I would love to use a light cotton, but those of you who've been to Wyoming know the wind always blows here and a heavier fabric is a necessity for a skirt here.
Here is the start of a project/tutorial that I am working on. I'm using charm packs of Arcadia fabric & I would describe the pattern as a variation between a nine patch & a rail fence pattern. I should have it near completion next week. I hope you like it.
What would you think of doing a quick sew along? Would you play along?
If you haven't done so already be sure to stop by Freshly Pieced to see everyone's WIPs.
Thanks for stopping by!

I love the skirt,, I have been to Rawlins and Wright/Gillette Wy.. I know about the wind. I know about having to stay off the internet or I do not get other things done.
Aw, I'm a sucker for a good sew along!
Ooh, what do you have planned? I need to spend more time off the net so I can actually finish some stuff myself!
Love the skirt. In fact I love everything on that pattern! I think I'm gonna try to find that one... :)
More time for real life is a GOOD thing! :)
Love the plaid for your skirt. Unfortunately I'm not sure I could add another sew along, but you've got me intrigued. :)
Cute skirt! And I love Arcadia, so I can't wait to see what you do with it. Thanks for linking up with WIP Wednesday. : )
Can I just tell you how insanely jealous I am that you have Arcadia?!?! I am. I nearly purchased a quilt kit a few years ago and I decided not to. Now I NEED it (not really, but I do want it super bad!) and I can't find it anywhere!!! I can't wait to see your tutorial. I just know it's going to be gorgeous.
Ha, we're currently in Wyoming and it's amazing how much less the wind is here compared to Oklahoma! Great skirt - I have that pattern, but I've only made the pants so far.
