Giveaway Day

Sew Mama Sew, my inspiration and one of the first blogs I followed, is hosting a Giveaway Day so I thought I'd join in on the fun.
I am offering a handmade glass pearl necklace. The pearls are a coppery/deep gold color and are strung with copper wire. There are a few blue disc beads throughout the strand. As I am posting this, it is not quite finished, but I will post a picture of the final product sometime tomorrow (Monday). Until then, here is a sneak peak of what it looks like so far.

To enter the drawing to win this necklace just comment on this post telling me your favorite Christmas gift that you are giving to someone this year. My favorite so far is the BBQ apron that I made for my brother-in-law. I will keep comments open until noon(ish) on Friday, December 17th. Be sure to leave your email address in your comment so that I can contact you if you win. Thank you and good luck!

*I've decided to leave comments open until I get home from work tonight. So you have until approx. 11pm Mountain Time for a chance to win.

I am secretly making my husband a quilt that on one side has his t-shirts from college and the other side is shirts from high-school. It's really a gift for us both, he'll finally stop wearing these old stained shirts, and will have his own blanket to wrap up in while we watch tv!

What a lovely necklace! Sadly my Christmas gifts this year are not homemade (at least not of the sewing variety). I am very excited to see my husband open the remote control helicopter I got for him. He's never really been one for many toys or that kind of thing, but he's mentioned over and over again how he likes those things. Hopefully he'll be surprised and enjoy it! Thanks for the chance to win!

I had to add the button to my blog the hard way. I uploaded the image to my blog, then typed in the following. The "img src" is where ever on your blog the image was loaded to:

[a href="http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/"][img src="http://www.threecatlimit.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/GiveawayDayButton.jpg" alt="Sew Mama Sew" /][/a]

Only use pointy brackets instead of square brackets. :)

Good luck!

The gift I'm most looking forward to giving this year is a quilt. My husband still has a twin-sized Garfield sheet from when he was a kid. I'm turning it into an adult-sized quilt so he can sleep under it again.

honestly, i have no idea what I'm getting ANYONE this year; my grandma has been in the hospital for a month and died last week, and so the holidays totally snuck up on me. Which is terrible, because normally I love doing Christmas gifts.
I had one king-sized bear paw quilt I was doing up for a Christmas present for a friend, but there's no way that's going to be done in a week and a half... luckily his birthday is at the end of January.

When my grandma had to stop sewing for health reasons, she gave me all of her fabric and supplies. Deep in the stash was a simple quilt top she had pieced from squares of the family's clothes. Some of them date back to the 40s! I am adding borders, backing, and quilting it and returning it to her. I love the history in it and I think it's fitting that it's taken members of different generations to finish the project.

unfortunately this year i'm not mking any presents because i've been in bedrest since summer due to a very complicated pregnancy (so at the same time it's for a very good reason). i did however planed on making my mother and my MIL aprons with xmas fabrics, not too matchy matchy because their personalities and tastes are very different. i thought of this because they cook xmas eve's meal together, it's their bonding time in the kitchen and it's a sight for sore eyes. next year i'll definetely make it.
please take the time to head over to my blog to participate in my giveaway too. i didn't make it to the list in time and it's something small, but there's still plenty of time and there are so few participants that you might actually have a chance to win something :)

That's a beautiful necklace (the finished one).
My fav gift is a purse I've made for my sister.

so pretty!
my favorite gift is the messenger bag I'm making for a cousin who is eleven. I'm stuffing four books from four of my favorite young adult book series inside & can't wait to finish & mail it off. It's just the thing I would have loved.

This is an amazing giveaway -- so beautiful! My fav gift so far is a project from the "I heart Linen" book that I made for my best friend -- it came out better than I could have hoped!

Oh, that's gorgeous!

My favourite gift this year might be the strange Star Wars book I'm giving my (24 year old) brother. The pictures appear to be moving, and I imagine he will spend quite a while laughing at me, for buying it!
